Pratapgarh,

In a dim-lit back room of an old tea shop, away from prying eyes, Naren Sahay stood tall before a small group of new faces.

Young men and women sat with fire in their eyes. Simple cloth masks waited in their pockets for later.Smoke from a single lantern curled up.It cast shadows on cracked walls.

Ved stood beside Naren. He was a respected member. His calm face and steady hands made the new ones trust him right away.

"Listen well, comrades," Naren began.

His hands opened wide. "We have a king on his throne, yes.He has soldiers marching proud. But his eyes stay on palace games and far-off wars. His military guards borders and fat nobles. It does not guard you or me.Down here in slums and villages, corrupt ministers take bribes. Greedy merchants grab lands from the poor. They hoard rice while kids starve.King's laws sit dusty.Greed at the top twists them all."He paused.

He looked each new recruit in the eye. Ved nodded quiet beside him.His presence gave weight to every word.

"Floods came and selected people gt the necessary help.Sick people lie dying. No medicine reaches them.We see it every day.The throne forgets the needy. That is why we rise quiet. We deliver food at dawn.We shadow those thieves at night.Masks on faces and Hearts for justice.Join Nyay Rakshak.Fight small battles the king ignores.Keep hope alive for the forgotten.Who stands with me?"

Nods rippled through the room.Fists clenched tight.Naren smiled sharp.Ved crossed his arms. He felt the pull of duty strong.

"Good," Naren said. "Masks up tomorrow. We will move."

After the meeting ended, Ved and a few trusted Nyay Rakshak members slipped out into the night for a quick mission.

After the meeting ended, Ved and a few trusted Nyay Rakshak members slipped out into the night for a quick mission.Naren Sahay had word of medicines hidden in a riverside godown.

The corrupt merchant hoarded them for profit. The group needed those medicines to help sick people in the outer areas of Pratapgarh, where people were suffering from various diseases such as Malaria and typhoid most commonly.

Guards were few there.Bribes kept them lazy.Ved led the group with trusted members. They wore simple cloth masks over their faces.Their heartbeats were steady.

They crept through misty lanes. They carried empty sacks ready for the medicines. They reached the godown without a sound. One member picked the side lock very fast.

Inside, medicine boxes towered high under the lantern's glow.

Ved whispered to the group. "Load quick.Take what we can carry."

They worked in silence.Their muscles strained with the heavy load. Then a side door creaked open.Footsteps came near. One member froze in place.Ved signaled everyone to hide behind the stacks.A lone watchman entered the room. His lantern swung back and forth. He paused for a moment. He sniffed the air.The group held their breath.

Voices sounded from outside all of a sudden. Women laughed as they carried water pots from the river. The watchman grumbled to himself. He stepped out to yell at them.

Ved seized the chance right away."Go now," he said. They hauled the sacks into the shadows. They melted away fast into the night.Ved rounded the riverside bend. Sacks hung over his shoulders. They finished their mission at dawn..

Ved and Nyay Rakshak members took medicines from the riverside godown. These medicines would help sick people in various villages around Pratapgarh. But for now, Ved kept those medicines hidden. The other members helped him. They stored the medicines in his own godown. This godown held his family's goods too.Ved needed to supply the medicines in small batches. He planned to send them to multiple places over time. This kept the work safe and secret .

It was the weekend.Ved got orders from Naren Sahay. He needed to visit a nearby area.People there suffered from malaria. They were poor and uneducated. They did not know about the disease.Ved had to supply medicines. He also had to tell them how to fight it.

Ved took a study bag.He disguised himself as a student. He filled the bag with Aspirin and Quinine packets. The medicines stayed hidden under old notebooks. He wore his simple scholar clothes. This kept his Nyay Rakshak work secret.

On the weekend road to the village, dust swirled light under Ved's feet as he walked with purpose, study bag slung over his shoulder.

The bookshop stood right on his path, its faded sign creaking in the breeze.Just then,Sanskriti stepped out from a side lane toward its door, her neat white dress swaying soft, a small bundle of old books tucked under her arm for exchange. Her face lit up like morning light when she spotted him standing there, eyes sparkling with that old familiar warmth from their riverside nights.

Ved paused at the bookshop corner, dust settling soft on the road.He smiled gentle, voice playful as he called first.

"Hey Sanvi, were you waiting for me??"

She turned slow, eyes meeting his with a cool spark, tone light but laced with quiet taunt from a month's silence.

"Waiting? For the scholar who forgets old friends? No, just books today."

He chuckled soft, masking the pang, leaning on his bag strap."Ouch, fair hit.I didn't forget you look,it's just my work was keeping me busy. What luck to steal a smile now!"

Her lips curved faint, taunt hiding hurt, voice simple.

"Luck or habit.Have a safe journey."

The air hummed tense yet sweet with their spark. She waved once and slipped inside, leaving him rooted, heart tugged hard, steps slower to the village .

Ved stepped forward, but his heart tugged him back and told him that he couldn't leave yet.

He leaned against the wall and waited for her.

The moment Sanskriti stepped outside the bookstore after buying her books, surprise widened her eyes. She rubbed them, hardly believing he was still there.

Hiding her happiness, she coughed dramatically.

"Mister,did you lose your way??"

He grinned wide, eyes twinkling with warmth, heart pounding happy. "Lost? No just found the best reason to stay. Can you spare an hour? Walk with me?"The air hummed sweet, their spark alive again .

Sanskriti felt excitement bubble inside at the chance to walk with him, but she hid it quick, face staying cool. She shifted her books, voice steady and teasing.

"An hour? Fine, mister but Where are you taking me? And I need to wait for Mona she's nearby in the salon getting a haircut."

He grinned, eyes warm with quiet purpose, leaning closer.

"Why don't we tell Mona I'll send you back safe within an hour?I'm taking you to the nearby lanes to help some folks there who need it.A quiet path by the river, nothing far."

Her heart melted soft at his words,a light anger from his long absence vanishing like morning mist.Such a kind soul, always thinking of others, she thought, eyes softening as warmth bloomed inside.

Sanskriti nodded, her softened gaze lingering on him a moment longer, books clutched tight. They walked together toward the salon first, the dusty path warm underfoot, her steps light beside his steady stride.

At the salon door,Mona emerged with fresh curls, eyes widening at the sight. "Ved? What's this both of you together?"

He smiled easy."Just borrowing Sanskriti for an hour.I'll bring her back safe."

Mona teased light but agreed, waving them off.As they turned toward the river path, quiet lanes unfolding,Sanskriti glanced at him, voice soft. "Lead on,helper of the world."

Their shoulders brushed once, hearts syncing slow, the afternoon sun gilding their way.

As they strolled the quiet river path, champa scent mixing with warm earth, Ved's bag bumped light against his side.Sanskriti walked close in her simple dress, books tucked under arm, stealing glances at his thoughtful face.

A soft breeze tugged her dress hem; she caught it, laughing quiet,"These narrow lanes by the river full of old stories.Who needs your help today?"

Ved glanced her way, voice warm and earnest.

"This area is filled with folks battling malaria and typhoid. They need education on it, plus medicines from my bag.Simple things that save lives."

Silence fell easy, broken only by the river's murmur, her hand brushing his once by accident or not.Hearts beat faster, the spark weaving deeper into the golden light .They reached the first narrow lane.

Prakash and Rohini were Ved's best friends. They were also members of his group. They waited for him with medicines ready. They had gathered people from the area under the peepal tree. They chatted easily. They were set for awareness talk on malaria and typhoid.

Ved grinned and joined them quickly. He opened his bag.He helped distribute quinine tablets. He shared tips on clean water.Sanskriti watched them closely. She set her books aside.

Her heart swelled with pride at his team's quiet work. Her fingers brushed his again. The touch lasted longer this time.Prakash winked in a teasing way."The hero is here with company."

The group felt warm together.Their steps synced closer on the path ahead.

After the talk, people thanked them with folded hands and smiles.Prakash slapped Ved's back lightly.Rohini handed out the last tablets to a young mother.

Sanskriti stood by,her eyes bright with respect for their work.

Ved turned to her, voice soft. "See? Small steps help big."

She nodded,heart full.

"You all make a real difference."

They walked on to the next home together. The sun dipped low, painting the lanes gold.Hands brushed more often now, sparks flying quiet.

With work done and more than two hours passed since the bookshop, the group started heading back along the golden lanes.

People waved thanks from doorways, the sun now low and soft.Ved pulled Prakash and Rohini aside.

His voice stayed calm and sure. "I'll send her back safe now.You two go ahead." Prakash grinned wide and nodded.Rohini teased light with a wink.

Meanwhile,Sanskriti felt a quiet scare creep in.Ved had promised Mona just one hour, but she couldn't say anything to him or his friends. They were busy doing good work, helping people with medicines and talks.

She walked beside him, books in arm, heart mixed with light joy and worry.Their steps slowed natural, hands close but not touching yet.

She glanced at him, voice soft but edged with nerves.

"Mona must be fuming by now.You said one hour."

He smiled gentle, eyes meeting hers warm."We'll make it right. Blame the good work it pulled us in."

Their hands brushed again, lingering this time, hearts quieting the scare into something sweeter.
